I have been writing music since I was 5, when I started playing accordian. I did concerts for neighborhood kids in my basement and enjoyed it so much that it became a regular part of our familiy activities. My dad played bass and sang backups for these basement shows until I formed my first real band, consisting of my best friend Dave on drums, my cousin Emi on keyboards, and by then I was playing guitar. I was very influenced by the environmental movement, and wrote over 50 songs about this issue before landing my first real recording contract with Muse. The album was called "Planet Earth," and made the kids radio top 40 in the second week after release.

In high school my band, The Girl Wonders, won the talent show for three straight years and we got some great television exposure as a result. Eventually I was asked to write the theme for "Kids Are People Too," and got to do some on camera work with Jelly Bean and the Funky John. It was really fun, and I did this for 3 seasons before striking out on my own.

The Banana Band was quite successful as a concert act, and we toured all over the world with some of the best children's acts. In Glasgow, I had the great fortune to meet Growler Fred, who was there recovering from severe stage fright. We hit it off great, and I convinced him to get back into performing with the Bananas. He and I collaborated on the first Baby Growler album, one thing led to another, and before we knew it, we had 5 cds out.

But all this excitement led to a period of burnout, and I stopped writing for a couple of years to focus on yoga and getting my karma back. Fred and I got married, built a house in the woods and lived a very quiet life of solitude in the peaceful north country, creating environmental websites and organizing online communities. Then Sammy was born, and everything changed once again. The birth of my child somehow re-energized the creative juices in me and I once again got back to songwriting. Fred and I built the Growler Recording facility in Nemeth, and started recording with our new parental focus. We are working on several projects including a television special on animals, and a radio series focused on very young children.

Sammy's voice can be heard on several of our latest releases, and he really loves singing with us. We hope to put together a family act that will enable us to once again be spokespeople for the environmental movement. Children in our community have been very knowledgeable about recycling and preservation issues, and we help spread the word in every way we can. We now have 4 dogs, 5 cats, an iguana, a parrot, and a pair of ferrets. Life is good, as you can tell from our most recent cd, "Happy To Be," just out on the Ears Only label.
